Manchester United agree to terminate Marcos Rojo contract
According to The Sun, Manchester United are set to terminate the contract of Argentine defender Marcos Rojo.
That should bring his six-and-a-half-year association with United to an end. The 30-year-old has been at the club since 2014 after bring signed by then manager Louis van Gaal.
Although he has had his moments, injuries and a loss in form have largely overshadowed his time at Old Trafford.
The defender signed a new contract in 2018 but has since been a largely peripheral figure. He has fallen out of favour with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has started just five Premier League games under the Norwegian.
Rojo’s contract at United ends this summer, meaning he can leave the club on a free come the end of the campaign. United, however, look set to end that association early.
The player’s personal trainer Carlos Castro has already revealed that his client will join Argentine giants Boca Juniors. With the Copa America coming up this summer, Rojo could still retain hopes of making the Argentina squad for the tournament.

Rojo also garnered interest from fellow Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Sheffield United. But he looks set to return to his homeland. (h/t Daily Mail)
Rojo spent the second half of the last season out on loan at boyhood club Estudiantes He returned to United in the summer but has since spent most of his time out injured.

Rojo will become the latest player to leave Manchester United in the January transfer window. Odion Ighalo left the club after his loan deal expired while Jesse Lingard and Facundo Pellistri have joined West Ham United and Alaves on loan respectively.
