Manchester United fans react as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fails to beat yet another top team in Arsenal

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was all smiles last weekend after Manchester United beat Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Old Trafford.

The win gave the Norwegian his first triumph over Jurgen Klopp and looked to be a step in the right direction. The same, however, cannot be said of our record against the top sides in the Premier League this season.

The draw against Arsenal yesterday night has now left United without a win against the big six of English football this season.

The Red Devils have drawn Chelsea, Manchester City Liverpool, and Arsenal while also losing at home to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. In these six games, we have scored a solitary goal courtesy of a Bruno Fernandes penalty.

This run of games has seen us pick up just four points. In comparison, we picked up 10 points from the corresponding fixtures last season.

It is not just the result that is the issue here, United’s performances in these games too leave much to be desired. While we have had our chances, it does gloss over the fact that the opposition too has in most cases had us on the ropes.

They should be performing better in these games if we are serious about launching a title challenge. Fans, however, appear to be a divided bunch and took to Twitter to either call out or support Solskjaer.

We look at what a few of the reactions on social media, below.
