Manchester United remain keen on Max Aarons and Kieran Trippier

According to Forbes, Manchester United remain keen on Kieran Trippier and Max Aarons as they look to add depth to the right-back spot.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the clear first choice in the position. However, the 23-year-old does lack proper competition for his spot. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to change just that.

Of the two options, Trippier is the more experienced one while Aarons can be seen as one for the future.

Trippier has the experience of playing in the English top-flight with Tottenham Hotspur. With his experience in the Champions League also a bonus, he can be expected to produce the goods right off the bat.

The 30-year-old is also an excellent player in attack. Wan-Bissaka, for all of his defensive solidity, is as good as a porous spoon going forward. Given the role attacking full-backs have in the game today, the inability to do so is a major weakness in the 23-year-old’s arsenal.

Tripper will not just provide United with a more attacking option but also help Wan-Bissaka hone his attacking output.

The same cannot be said of Aarons. The youngster did enjoy a promising debut season in the Premier League with Norwich City. While he has immense potential, he still needs to develop certain aspects of his game.

There is no reason why he cannot develop into a top-level player. Given that Wan-Bissaka is just 23, United are better off bringing in Trippier.

Norwich rejected an offer from Barcelona for Aarons last summer. It remains to be seen if they will be more receptive of one from United.
