Borussia Dortmund ready to sell Manchester United target Jadon Sancho
According to German publication Bild (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils were heavily linked with the winger last summer. However, Borussia Dortmund held firm and he stayed put in Germany.
The Germans have not been immune to the adverse effects of the coronavirus. With their finances also having taken a hit, Dortmund are ready to make a decision that involves two of the best young talents in world football.
In Sancho and Erling Haaland, Dortmund have two players that the top sides across the continent. It would appear that are now willing to part ways with Sancho in order to keep Haaland.
Haaland has been a revelation since joining from RB Salzburg a year ago. He continues to go from strength to strength and has already scored a14 goals in 13 Bundesliga appearances so far this season. (h/t The Mirror)
The same cannot be said of Sancho who has scored just two goals and assisted nine more in 16 Bundesliga appearances. While it is not a bad return by any means, it is below his usual standards. (h/t Transfermarkt)
While Haaland too is in massive demand, Dortmund remain determined to hold onto him for another season.
The Germans are currently in sixth spot and are in danger of missing out on next season’s Champions League. Given their financial situation, that is something they can ill afford.
United could see their chances of landing the player boosted if they win the Premier League this season. Sancho for his part is also keen to return to England next season.
