Arsenal have struggled all season

Arsenal could face Manchester United sans Aubameyang and Tierney

According to The Metro, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is unsure if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kieran Tierney will be available to face Manchester United.

The Red Devils travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal in the weekend’s standout fixture. The Gunners are also the last team to beat us in the Premier League.

United have since gone on a 14-match unbeaten streak that propelled them to the top of the Premier League until Manchester City won yesterday. Arsenal have, meanwhile, experienced a resurgence of sorts that United will hopefully nip in the bud.

Aubameyang is a doubt to face Manchester United at the weekend

Asked after the game, Arteta remains unsure if his dynamic duo will be fit to feature against United. Both players were also absent for their clash against Southampton yesterday night.

Not that it made much of a difference as they came from behind to win the game 3-1. Tierney has emerged as a key player for Arsenal this season. His presence against us would give them a massive boost.

“He was still injured today and let’s see how he progresses for the game against United.”

Tierney has been excellent since he joined Arsenal

While Aubameyang has failed to hit his usual levels this season, he remains a potent threat on his day. The Gabon star scored the winner for Arsenal at Old Trafford earlier this season.

Arteta dedicated the win against Southampton to his ace striker before admitting that there is no update as yet regarding his availability for the weekend.

“The issue is still going. It’s not resolved yet. He needs a little bit of time and we have to respect and support that.”
