Ian Wright praises Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his handling of Manchester United duo Shaw and Bailly
Speaking on Optus Sport (h/t The Metro), Ian Wright has heaped praise on Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for transforming the fortunes for two key Red Devil stars.
There is no doubt regarding the talents of Luke Shaw or Eric Bailly. Both players have significantly underachieved in recent seasons due to a myriad of factors, mostly injuries.
Both players appear to be enjoying a resurgence in form this campaign. They have shown exactly what they can do as United put up an unexpected title charge.
“What we’ve seen with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, which he has to get the maximum amount of respect for, is his man-management of this team.”
Wright believes Solskjaer deserves massive credit for inspiring the turnaround. The Norwegian’s man-management skills have come to the fore, with Shaw once again tipped to play for England.
It is a remarkable turnaround of fortunes for a player whose position was in doubt last summer. However, the arrival of Alex Telles has, if anything, lit a fire under the Englishman, taking his game up a notch.
Evolution or rebirth?
“The way this team is playing, Luke Shaw and his re-emergence to being a top player and he’s probably getting himself in the conversation for England now.”
“I love the transformation of Eric Bailly.”
Bailly has in recent weeks formed a formidable partnership alongside skipper Harry Maguire. The duo has looked solid together in an area that United had trouble with earlier in the season.
The Ivorian has helped mask Maguire’s lack of pace and looks to be every bit the star we thought we signed in 2016.

Solskjaer deserves much credit for turning around a reason that started off horrendously. While there is still much to improve, United have shown they have what it takes to be a real force in the game again.
Currently top of the Premier League, there is real hope that we can end our eight-year wait for the Premier League. It is time that Solskjaer converts hope to victory.
