Manchester United equal incredible club record in the win against Fulham
According to The Metro, Manchester United have now gone 17 away games unbeaten in the English Premier League.
This has now equalled the club’s longest unbeaten streak in away games achieved in the English top-flight. The original record was obtained by our treble-winning side in 1999, a team which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a part of.
United have not experienced defeat in their Premier League travels since the 2-0 reversal at Anfield last season. Yesterday’s win was our 17th unbeaten away game on the spin, a run that now spans over a year.
We certainly made it hard for ourselves after Ademola Lookman gave Fulham the lead in the fifth minute. Edinson Cavani drew us level in the 21st minute with a well-taken strike.
The stage was set for yet another wonder strike from Paul Pogba as the Red Devils once again went top. It is the second time in three games that the Frenchman has stepped up to find the winner.
United now hold a two-point lead over Manchester City at the summit. Pep Guardiola’s side have, however, played a game lesser.
Solskjaer’s side next travels to the Emirates on 30th January. The Gunners got the better of us at Old Trafford, laying the stage for a cracker of a game.
United’s incredible run in 1999 came to a grinding halt in London against Chelsea. The Blues hammered us 5-0 on the night. Hopefully, Solskjaer’s side will avoid a similar fate.

While the record is impressive, Solskjaer’s men have pushed their luck at times. It is all however part of the game and what matters is the final result.
Ekeing out results is the hallmark of champions and it has been a while since a United team has done that. For now, there is much to celebrate.
