Man United superstar urged to stay put at Old Trafford by teammate amidst exit talk

Fred hopes Paul Pogba will stay put at Manchester United

Speaking to Globo Esporte (h/t Express), Fred has urged wantaway star Paul Pogba to remain at Manchester United.

The Frenchman’s contract at United is set to expire in the summer of 2022. His agent, Mino Raiola has already admitted that the player is keen to leave the club.

While a January exit is out of the question, the prospect of him leaving in the summer remains a real possibility. A U-turn in that decision will have the backing of Fred.

“We hope so much that he can stay, everyone knows his quality, this is indisputable.”

Fred praised Pogba as someone who applies himself well in training. He has also praised the Frenchman as a good sport who livens up the locker room.

“He (Pogba) is one of the guys who works hard, works hard, is very serious in training.”

Pogba has stepped up his game in recent weeks. He recently scored the winner against Burnley to send the club to the top of the Premier League. The Frenchman appears intent to leave the club on a high.

Fred believes Pogba is a key member of the Red Devils squad and losing him would be a huge loss for the team.

“We hope he stays and is always at his best.”

Pogba, for his part, is keen to do his best for the team. He recently admitted that staying on the bench having no say in the match’s outcome was a frustrating prospect.

Whether he can still experience a change of heart, as things stand it would appear unlikely. If he continues to perform as he has done of late, the clamour for the Frenchman to stay will only grow louder.

Whether that will prove to be the case remains to be seen.
