Man United star shuts down rival fans with key moment in win over Burnley

Paul Pogba scored the winner against Burnley to take Manchester United top of the Premier League on Tuesday.

United looked to have scored in the first half when skipper Harry Maguire powered home a powerful header. The goal, however, was ruled out after Clarets defender Erik Pieters was adjudged to have been fouled in the build-up.

VAR upheld the decision, much to the annoyance of United fans. Truth be told, it was a rather soft call.

Chelsea fans had a go at Manchester United for complaining against VAR

The chance to go one up at the break would have been a massive boost in what was a mixed 45 minutes. According to Football.london, United’s frustration, however, served as joy to Chelsea supporters.

Blues fans believe United have got the rub of the green when it came to VAR decisions this season. The fact that our fans felt hard done by the call against Maguire was a source of amusement to them.

Ironically, Chelsea have had more VAR decisions go in their favour this season than United. The Blues have gained two more points than they should have, thanks to VAR, with only Everton outscoring them.

Given that the facts don’t lie, it would appear that Chelsea fans have short-term memories, similar to Roman Abramovich when it comes to hiring and firing.

United won the game, in the end, thanks to a second-half strike by Pogba. The goal would have wiped the smirk off the Blues still smarting off the disallowed goal.

Given that Chelsea are currently ninth in the table, their fans have not had much to celebrate in recent weeks. Their celebration at our misfortune can only be seen as an act of them clutching at straws as their title dreams fade away.

After all, we can barely hear them from the top of the table.
