Team news: Manchester United could take on Burnley sans Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof

Providing the team news ahead of the game against Burnley (h/t Manchester United), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that three first-team stars are a doubt to feature at Turf Moor.

The Norwegian had admitted that Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, and Paul Pogba all missed the win against Watford, thanks to injuries.

While Solskjaer is hopeful that the trio will return to face Liverpool, them travelling to Turf Moor appears to be touch and go.

“I hope so. I hope all of them for Liverpool anyway.”

A decision on their participation will be taken after the club trains on Monday. With the game set to take place tomorrow, Solskjaer will be able to make a more informed decision.

“I’m not sure if they’ll make the Burnley one, but we have light training and we’ll see on Monday.”

Shaw and Pogba have stepped up their game in recent weeks and their potential absence will be noticed. It is imperative that we have them ready to go against Liverpool at the weekend.

Eric Bailly too appeared to undergo a concussion after a collision with Dean Henderson against Watford. The defender has since revealed that he is doing fine. (h/t MEN)

Whether Solskjaer will decide to risk the Ivorian remains to be seen. With Axel Tuanzebe impressing against the Hornets, it would be prudent to start him against Burnley instead.

One positive for Solskjaer is the return of striker Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan has completed his three-match ban and will be available if needed.

Turf Moor is not an easy place to go to. However, given the incentive we can go top with a point, the players must not be short of motivation.

United could very well travel to Anfield next weekend as the Premier League leaders.
