Fans react as Manchester United draw Liverpool in the FA Cup fourth round

Manchester United have drawn arch-rivals Liverpool at home in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

It will be the second time within a week that both teams will be meeting each other. The stage is already set for both teams to take on each other at Anfield in the Premier League on 17 January.

A second fixture seven days later adds spice to what is a major rivalry being rekindled. With both teams looking to gain one over the other, coming into direct conflict will only make the draw more interesting.

Both sides last met in the competition at the same stage in 2012. Unfortunately, a late Dirk Kuyt goal ensured Liverpool were victors on the night.

Hopefully, we will get the result we need and have another good run in the competition. United made it to the semifinal stage last year where we lost to Chelsea.

The winner of the tie will face either West Ham United or Doncaster Rovers at home in the fifth round.

Regardless of the competition, a United-Liverpool tie is always something to look forward to. Both clubs face a potentially season-defining week where they could affect each other’s fortunes directly.

Hopefully, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will give us two reasons to celebrate in the coming days. We look at how some fans reacted to the draw on Twitter.
