Mourinho eyes Man United star as a replacement for Tottenham veteran

Manchester United star Dean Henderson a target for Tottenham
According to the Sun, former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is lining up Dean Henderson as a potential candidate to replace club captain Hugo Lloris at Tottenham.
A product of the Manchester United academy, Henderson spent the last three seasons out on loan at Shrewsbury Town and Sheffield United before returning to the club last summer.
Having stayed at Old Trafford, the Englishman is now the club’s second-choice goalkeeper behind David de Gea. As a result, he has had to bide his time to get chances in the starting XI.

This has supposedly left him frustrated, as per the report and Mourinho is now lining up a swoop for the goalkeeper as he targets a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
The Frenchman has been with Tottenham for eight years now. However, his contract with the club expires in eighteen months.
And there is a fear within the Spurs camp that he could leave in the summer, amidst interest from French champions PSG, where former manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to be named the manager.
Should that come to be, Mourinho will look to former club Manchester United to replace the veteran goalkeeper with Henderson emerging as his preferred candidate.

Another player that Mourinho is considering, apart from Henderson, is former Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. Another United academy man, Johnstone has been impressing with West Brom this term. (h/t The Sun)
Henderson, this season, has featured just seven times in all competitions. The 23-year-old has kept four clean sheets in the process. He signed a new five-year contract with the club in August last year.
He may not have played much this term. But United rate Henderson very highly. And it is unlikely that the club would let him leave, let alone to a direct rival.
