Bruno Fernandes opens up about his relationship with United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Speaking in an interview to BT Sport (h/t Express) before their game against Leicester City, Bruno Fernandes revealed that he has an excellent relationship with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United wanted to sign Bruno Fernandes in the summer of 2019. However, the club waited until January 2020 to finally get their man from Sporting CP.
Since then, he has been a revelation at Manchester United. He propelled the team to a top-four finish last season to ensure their qualification to the UEFA Champions League.
And, he has carried his form into this campaign. The 26-year-old playmaker has amassed 14 goals and 8 assists in his 21 appearances for United so far this season. He scored and assisted one goal apiece against Leicester earlier today.
Speaking about his relationship with Solskjaer, Fernandes revealed that his manager put a lot of trust in him ever since he arrived at Old Trafford.
“Straight away, when I arrived, the confidence the coach showed in me was impressive.”
He highlighted how he was put straight into the starting XI by Solskjaer despite not having trained much with the squad.
“Straight away, after two days, I was playing against Wolves. I’d only trained once with the team.”
This immediate trust, Fernandes revealed, made him want to prove his worth to the manager and repay him for his faith. The Portuguese said that things have only gone uphill ever since his first few starts. (h/t Express)
It is safe to say that Bruno Fernandes has been one of the best signings made by the club in recent times. He has shown time and again that he can come up with the goods when United need it most.

Following the 2-2 draw with Leicester, Manchester United are third in the table, and they know that any push for the title would require their top players such as Bruno Fernandes to continue firing.
