United star Marcus Rashford wins This is Manchester Supernova award
According to the club’s official site, United ace Marcus Rashford has been recognised at the This is Manchester awards for 2020.
The event pays tribute to people, heroes, places, organisations and communities that have shown resilience and true Mancunian grit and determination.
Given the effort Rashford has made to combat child hunger, it would be a travesty if he failed to make the cut for the accolades.
“I’m honoured to receive this award and would like to thank those who have nominated me for it.”
Rashford’s efforts have seen him get awarded with the Supernova award for his heroic efforts to combat child food poverty.
The 23-year-old felt honoured to be awarded the accolade and stressed on the difference we can make if we work together.
He went on to add that there is still much to be done. Hopefully, the award will inspire more people like him to step up and address a key issue in today’s society.
“So much more needs to be done though, in the fight against child hunger and this award will help motivate me and those involved to continue our efforts.”
Nominations for the 2020 This is Manchester Awards began in August and were open to all business organisations and individuals accross Greater Manchester and Cheshire regions.
Entries were welcome from anyone wishing to nominate themselves, someone else, business or Individual/person who have shown resilience and courage.
It is fair to sat Rashford is a worthy winner.
