We managed to lose both, managing to put in abject back to back performances to receive our just desserts. Questionable tactical decisions in both games will have to be called into question as Solskjaer falls short once again.

With his position now being called into question, one name on many fans’ lips is Mauricio Pochettino. The former Tottenham Hotspur manager is currently without a club and has been linked with us in recent months.

A proven tactician in the Premier League, the Argentine is a pragmatic option who knows how to get the best out of the players at his disposal.

With the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona also enjoying poor seasons, it remains to be seen if we will act quick enough to beat them to Pochettino if we decide to go for him at all.
