Scott McTominay reveals the anger in the Manchester United dressing room after PSG loss
Speaking to Esporte Interativo (h/t The Express), Scott McTominay has revealed the mood in the Manchester United dressing room after the loss to PSG.
The Red Devils lost 3-1 at home and now go into the final matchday knowing their participation in the knockout stages is still not secure.
The clash against Leipzig next week will be a heated affair with the Germans needing a win while a draw will be enough for us.
United were comfortably the better team in the beginning of the second half. We had numerous chances to finish off PSG but somehow contrived to miss.
Anthony Martial missed an empty net while Edinson Cavani hit the bar. PSG’s second goal coupled with a red card to Fred soon after knocked the wind out of our sails.
McTominay too was involved in tussles, especially with Brazilian superstar Neymar. The striker however had the last laugh with him scoring twice in the 3-1 win.
‘The way we were feeling in the dressing room now is not good for a reason, and that’s out of our control with things that happen on the pitch.”
Fact or excuses?
PSG’s attitude combined with a feeling of being hard done by the officials was a constant source of beef for United players in the dressing room.
“The way they act on the pitch, the way they conduct themselves.”
McTominay expressed his dismay at the refereeing on the night. He felt the decision making by the officials was poor and United were hard done by it.
“In terms of how the game panned out with the referee and the decisions that were made. I have nothing to comment on that. I think it’s poor.”

United players will need to take their heads out of the sand and admit that they were not good enough on the night. While there were flashes of brilliance and moments of dominance, we just did not take our chances.
Feeling hard done by the officials or not being ready to handle an opponent who has never made it a secret as to how they pay comes down to a lack of humility or unpreparedness.
Hopefully, lessons will be learnt so that the next time we face a top team, the players will be up for it.
