Despite landing Facundo Pellistri and Amad Traore, neither of the duo is ready to start games for the club just yet. While they may evolve into genuine talents in the future, the current issue at right-wing still remains unresolved.

According to the report, United are keen to recruit the French international initially on a loan deal. Meanwhile, in a boost to our hopes, Barcelona are keen to take Dembele’s wages off their current budget.

Dembele has had a decent start to life under Ronald Koeman this season. He has so far scored three goals and had another assist in just ten appearances. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Dembele is open to joining Manchester United
Dembele has struggled with injuries

His current deal at Barcelona runs until 2022. The Catalans are keen to hold onto their £67m asking price for his services.

A major issue regarding the player is his abysmal injury record. He has so far missed 80 games since joining Barcelona in 2017. He has been more of a regular this campaign and hopefully his injuries are behind him.

Barcelona signed the player in 2017 in a deal that could rise up to £135.5m. Dembele was then the club’s record signing until Philippe Coutinho broke it soon after.

While it may not have gone exactly according to plan at the Nou Camp, a fresh beginning at Old Trafford could be the best bet. After all, it is not called the Theatre of Dreams for nothing.
