Manchester United remain keen on landing Ousmane Dembele on loan
According to Spanish outlet Sport (h/t The Sun), Manchester United have not given up in their efforts to land Ousmane Dembele.
The Barcelona star was on the club’s radar in the summer. However, a deal could not be reached after the player had a late change of heart and decided to stay put at the Nou Camp.
United however are not ready to accept defeat. They are set to make another move for the Frenchman when the window opens again in January.
Dembele has had a decent start to life under Ronald Koeman. He has so far scored three goals and another assist in just nine appearances.
His current deal at Barcelona runs until 2022. The Catalans are keen to hold onto their £67million asking price for his services.
This has prompted United to seek a loan deal, at least initially. The club is keen to pursue a permanent deal if he performs well.
A major issue that could stand in the way of the deal is the key role Dembele has been given under Koeman.
It was earlier reported that Barcelona’s financial situation is quite dire. This saw them put up five of their players for sale ahead of the January window, with Dembele also on the list. Whether that is truly the case remains to be seen. (h/t Express)

Barcelona signed the player in 2017 in a deal that could rise up to £135.5m. Dembele was the club’s record signing until Philippe Coutinho broke it soon after.
Another major issue regarding the player is his abysmal injury record. He has so far missed 80 games since joining Barcelona in 2017.
