Speaking to the club’s official magazine (h/t MEN), Manchester United number one David de Gea has hit back at his critics.

The Spanish international was subject to harsh criticism following a dip in form over the last two seasons. A top-class player on his day, his reputation was hit following a number of high-profile errors.

The 30-year-old, to his credit, has come back stronger and is now getting back to his best. He looks far more assured and has often been reliable when called upon.

De Gea is well aware of the critics that hit out at him previously. But rather than let it impact his performance, he is keen to learn from mistakes that have been made. (h/t MEN)

“I think you learn from your mistakes, you start to mature and life throws up difficult situations. And, of course, you learn from them, from the bad times especially.”

How one responds to adversity is a true measure of a man’s worth. De Gea, to his credit, has silenced his detractors and has shown his true ability on the pitch.
