Brazil issue statement on Manchester United star Alex Telles
According to MEN, Brazil has provided an update on Manchester United star Alex Telles.
Signed on deadline day, the left-back enjoyed an excellent debut in the famous 2-1 win over PSG in Paris. It has however been his sole appearance for the club so far.
This is due to him contacting coronavirus. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had confirmed that the player was not showing any visible symptoms.
The defender missed the next two weeks of United training. He tested negative before travelling to link up with the Brazil squad.
Telles will undergo another COVID-19 test on Sunday. A decision will then be made on whether he can travel to Uruguay with the Brazil national team.
According to the report, his participation is in doubt with Brazil calling up Guilherme Arana as cover.
The statement by the national team revealed that Telles in fact tested positive. He will be ineligible to travel to Uruguay unless he tests negative in the upcoming test.
“Arana was called on to form the Brazilian squad after left-back Alex Telles tested positive for Covid-19. The player had contracted the virus while still in his club, Manchester United, and is no longer in a transmissive stage.”
He would be sent back to United if he tests positive once again.

If Telles tests positive again, it would spell trouble for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. With Luke Shaw already injured, it would leave Brandon Williams as the only left-back.
The Brazilian is the second Manchester United star to contract the virus. Paul Pogba too missed the start of our season after testing positive.
