Didier Deschamps claims Paul Pogba is unhappy with situation at United
As reported by The Times, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is not pleased with his current situation at the club, according to France manager Didier Deschamps.
The 27-year-old Frenchman has had a difficult start to the new season, having initially struggled with fitness and having had to recover from the coronavirus.
As a result, he had lost his place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI, and while he did reclaim it, poor performances in recent matches have seen him drop to the bench once again.
Instead, the manager has opted to field the two-man midfield axis of Scott McTominay and Fred, with Bruno Fernandes the undisputed choice as the No. 10 role.
Even when playing, there have been questions over Pogba’s best position in the lineup, with the midfielder not entirely convincing starting in the double pivot.
And Deschamps has claimed that the Frenchman’s situation, with respect to his place in the side as well as his best position, is certain to have displeased him. (h/t The Times)
“He is in a situation with his club where he cannot be happy, neither with his playing time nor with his positioning.”
The France manager, however, admitted that Pogba was yet to find his rhythm, having gone through a difficult period at the start of the campaign due to Covid.
“He is not in his best period, he has had a series of injuries and Covid-19 which has hit him quite hard. He needs to find his rhythm.”

Pogba’s situation at the club is a bit worrisome. While there is no doubting his quality, the lack of consistency has become a major concern. With his contract expiring in 2022, the club may have to take a call on his future in the near future.
