Manchester United to keep faith in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
According to Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic, Manchester United are set to retain their faith in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian has come under increased scrutiny after a poor start to the season. United are languishing in 15th spot in the league and also lost their unbeaten run in Europe earlier this week.
Alarmingly enough, we are winless at home in the league and look bereft of ideas or tactics. Despite this, Solskjaer’s job is not under threat, irrespective of this weekend’s result against Everton.
The Merseysiders are not the easiest of opposition despite their recent blip in form. Carlo Ancelotti has moulded the Toffees into a competitive outfit and could give us a proper game.
Merseyside was the tipping point for two of Solskjaer’s predecessors. David Moyes was dismissed after losing at Goodison Park while Jose Mourinho was booted after falling at Anfield to Liverpool. (h/t Daily Star)
It would appear that Solskjaer is immune to the trend, at least for the time being.
United recognise the job Solskjaer did in guiding them to third place in the Premier League last season, as well as three semi-finals. They remain committed to his management.
The feeling is that Solskjaer deserves the opportunity to rectify matters, especially since he recently beat Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig.
A win will see us move within six points of league leaders Liverpool. It should keep us within touching distance of the top.

Despite potentially closing the gap on our rivals, United’s lack of consistency is a major issue. While Solskjaer is capable of securing wins that are impressive, it has not translated into anything substantial.
It remains to be seen if he has what it takes us all the way. As yet, the jury is still out on it.
