Manchester United frustrated with Mason Greenwood
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are unhappy with Mason Greenwood regarding his lack of punctuality.
The 19-year-old was axed from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad for Tuesday’s Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain and Saturday’s 4-1 win at Newcastle. He is believed to have frustrated club officials with what his tardiness.
Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer meanwhile has refused to elaborate on the issue when asked.
The Norwegian revealed on Saturday that Greenwood was unfit to feature. But this appeared to be in direct contradiction of images showing him in training just prior to the trip to Paris.
According to the report, Solskjaer is expected to stick to his assessment. But the truth appears to be something else. The player’s lack of punctuality appears to be the burning topic.
Interestingly, United too have declined to comment on the topic.
It is not the first time that the youngster has been caught in the middle of a controversy. Greenwood was left out of England’s most recent squad after he and Phil Foden sneaked girls into the team hotel.
The striker apologised and promised to not repeat his mistakes in the future. It would however appear that lightning does strike twice.
As a youngster, it is necessary that the player does not become too big for his shoes. While talent may be important, discipline is just as crucial for a player’s success.
Hopefully, Greenwood will have learned his lesson. After all, there are only so many chances you can get.
