Bruno Fernandes to captain Manchester United against PSG

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes is set to captain the club against PSG in the Champions League.

Skipper Harry Maguire is among a quintet of players who have not travelled to Paris for the match. Fernandes has emerged as a key player since joining the club in January and is among the most prominent players in the squad.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed in the pre-match presser that Fernandes will indeed lead the side out at the Parc des Princes.

“The captain sits next to me, Bruno will captain the team tomorrow.”

As someone who inspires through his play, Fernandes will hope to be a similar influence as a leader. He is honoured to be the skipper and will hope to lead the club to Champions League glory.

The Red Devils got back to winning ways at the weekend against Newcastle United. It was easily our best performance of the season and is hopefully a pivotal moment in our season.

It was also the perfect response to the 6-1 hammering we received at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. Hopefully, it will be the start of us putting together another winning run.

The revelation came as a surprise to Fernandes. The Portuguese was pleasantly surprised but took the revelation in his element.

“I was not expecting this – I found out this the same time as you.”

Fernandes understands the role of a skipper and is keen to do his best. It is an honour for the Portuguese international and hopefully, he will do the occasion some justice.
