Bruno Fernandes denies falling out with Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

According to Portuguese broadcaster Sports TV (h/t The Independent), Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has rejected reports that he has had a rift with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Portuguese star was said to have had an argument with the United boss. The event apparently took place at half-time of our 6-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. Fernandes was taken off during half time.

“I didn’t speak out or say anything that could prejudice the rest of the team.”

The loss leaves the Red Devils with just three points from the first three games.

Fernandes insists he has only gratitude for Solskjaer. He revealed that the Norwegian was the one who brought him to the club and also kept the faith in him.

“I’ve only got gratitude for the manager because he was the one who wanted me and believed in me.”

Speaking on being taken off against Spurs, Fernandes admits that Solskjaer told him that the game was beyond repair. Having already admitted defeat, the United boss sought to save his star midfielder for the matches to come.

While he may not have been happy with being taken off, Fernandes neverthless understood the rationale behind the decision.

The 26-year-old has warned off people from using his name to stem up trouble at the club.

“If anyone wants to create confusion at Manchester United don’t use my name or that of my teammates or manager.”

It is heartening to see that Fernandes is not upset and is on the same page as Solskjaer. We need the players to turn the season around and it would have been difficult to do so if there was no unity.
