Scott McTominay reveals Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the players’ backing

Speaking to TV2 (h/t The Express), Manchester United star Scott McTominay has revealed where players stand regarding the future of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

This comes after Duncan Castles revealed that the players have lost faith in the Norwegian. It has been reported that he could be replaced with Mauricio Pochettino if United do not improve their results.

McTominay, however, says otherwise. According to him, the players are all firmly behind the manager and believe he is the best man for the job.

“The whole club is behind him. We believe in every word he says.”

The Scottish international also went on to reiterate the belief the squad has in Solskjaer’s supporting cast.

While it is heartening to know that the players are united in their backing of Solskjaer, the truth is that the Norwegian is in the firing line for now.

A divided house would have just made things worse at this point. Hopefully, with the players’ backing, Solskjaer can turn things around.

As the public face of the club, the manager is naturally the first man to garner criticism for the on-field happenings.

United have endured a tough start to the season and have won just one of their three Premier League games. Apart from the results, the lack of direction on the field remains a concern.

Solskajer will undoubtedly have to take heat for that. But placing the blame solely on his feet would at best be a superficial decision.
