Twitter reacts as Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is awarded an MBE
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been awarded an MBE for services to vulnerable children in the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The England international successfully lobbied the Government to overturn its approach to the free school meals policy during the lockdown. His efforts ensured that the children in need would receive food during the summer.
Replying to the accolade, Rashford admitted that he humbled and thanked his mother for teaching him values. He hopes to usher in a day where no child in the UK will have to go hungry.
The 22-year-old has also formed a child food poverty task force. The organization is linking up with some of the nation’s biggest supermarkets and food brands.
Rashford also received the Professional Footballers’ Association merit award for his efforts. We take a look at how fans reacted to the United star’s latest achievement below.
