Manchester United fans react as Facundo Pellistri joins the Red revolution
Young Uruguayan Facundo Pellistri has completed his move to Manchester United.
The 18-year-old joins from Club Atletico Penarol on a five-year contract, with an option to extend by another year.
Pellistri is the second Uruguayan to make the switch to United on deadline day. The other was veteran ace Edinson Cavani.
Capable of playing on either flank, the 18-year-old made 37 appearances for the Penarol first-team. During this time, he scored two goals and made four assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
It is a case of us reaching out to Uruguay for the past and the future. While Cavani encompasses the best of the nation’s recent past, Pellistri will hopefully echo in a bright future.
