Manchester United ace Diogo Dalot on the verge of joining AC Milan on loan
As reported by the MEN, Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot left the club’s training ground early on Saturday in order to complete his loan switch to AC Milan.
News of a loan switch to Milan broke out on Thursday, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano ‘Here we go’-ing it.
As per the journalist, the Portuguese youngster will be joining the Rossoneri on a season-long loan deal without an option to buy. Milan decided to go ahead with a simple loan move as AS Roma were also pushing to sign him.
Now the MEN is reporting that Dalot came into the club’s training facility on Saturday morning before his teammates. He spent just thirty minutes at the facility before leaving.
The 21-year-old is expected to fly out to Italy today to complete his medical and complete the loan move before Monday’s transfer deadline day. (h/t MEN)
Dalot joined Manchester United from FC Porto in the summer of 2018. However, the right-back struggled with injuries during his first season at the club. In addition, the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer meant Dalot dropped down the pecking order.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferred Timothy Fosu-Mensah over him towards the end of the last season as well as in the first game of the new campaign. This hinted that Dalot could be allowed to leave this summer.

The Portuguese still has three years left on his contract with Manchester United. So a good season in Milan may well lead to him earning a place at Old Trafford next season.
Nevertheless, he is on his way to Italy now, with Manchester United promoting youngster Ethan Laird to the first-team to cover for the Portuguese’s departure.
