Agent of Donny van de Beek speaks out how Manchester United have treated his client
According to the Dutch publication VoetbalPrimeur (h/t The Independent), the agent of Donny Van de Beek has spoken out against how Manchester United have underutilized his client.
The Dutchman is United’s sole major signing of the summer so far. He made his competitive debut from the bench in our season opener against Crystal Palace.
In a forgettable game, Van de Beek was one of the few bright spots. He capped off the night with a goal just 13 minutes into his United career.
The 23-year-old started the next game against Luton Town in the Carabao Cup. Although he impressed once again, he found himself back on the bench for the clash against Brighton.
Despite his performances, he is yet to start a Premier League game for United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to persist with his trio of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, and Nemanja Matic.
This bit-part role has incensed Sjaak Swart, who expressed his unhappiness with his client’s start to life in the Premier League.
“A substitute, I don’t like it at all.”
Swart insists that Van De Beek has done enough to warrant a place in Solskjaer’s first-team plans. His comments are understandable given his client’s good form and Paul Pogba’s struggles.
Despite playing just four minutes against Brighton, Swart believes the Dutchman did enough to win the game for United.
“The penalty, where the winning goal came from, it came from him.”

While he has every right to feel upset, Swart has to realise that Van de Beek is just three games into his United career.
Coming to a new country and a new team, the player will have to be eased in so that he can come to terms with how we play. Van de Beek has shown he has what it takes to do well at United.
For now, patience should be the call of the hour.
