Manchester United deny interest in Ainsley Maitland-Niles
According to the MEN, Manchester United have denied interest in Arsenal star Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
The 23-year-old came through the ranks at Arsenal. He made his Gunners debut in 2014 in the UEFA Champions League against Galatasaray.
A versatile player who can play a variety of positions, Maitland-Niles predominantly stars on the right flank, be it in the attack or defence.
United have enjoyed a poor window so far that has seen them land just major one player – Donny van de Beek. With the window closing soon, the club will need to get things rolling.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have to sell players in order to raise funds. The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey. (h/t The Metro)
Maitland-Niles had been touted as one of the players to make way for the newcomers. According to the report, the Gunners star was available for £20million excluding bonuses and add-ons.
Porto left-back Alex Telles is United’s top target among full-backs. The 27-year-old is in the final year of his contract and is keen to move to Old Trafford.
There is still time for the club to make a splash. However, with just five days left, they cannot afford to be tardy.

Despite his age, Maitland-Niles has made over 100 appearances for Arsenal. An experienced player, he would have been a solid but unspectacular signing for the Red Devils.
