AC Milan keen on taking Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot on loan

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan are keen on taking Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot on loan.

While the potential move looks set to include an option to buy, United are keen to sell the player on a permanent basis rather than loan him out.

As of yet, no deal has been agreed between both the clubs. With time running out, they will need to speed things up.

Dalot was among the last players brought to the club by former boss Jose Mourinho. Despite his promise, the 21-year-old has struggled to impress at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is unconvinced by the player’s performance in training. Dalot has struggled with injuries and made just 11 appearances last season. (h/t Transfermarkt)

The Norwegian is keen to bring in a new left-back and shift Williams to the right-back spot. As yet, we have not reached an agreement for Alex Telles.

Losing Dalot without bringing in a replacement will leave the squad in dire need of depth. While the player has not been sued much in recent months, the lack of experienced options could come to haunt us this season.

The club would eveb be prudent to install a buy-back clause in any deal that takes Dalot away from Old Trafford. He still has his best years ahead of him and could turn into a solid player.

While his time at United has been underwhelming, there is no reason why he cannot hit it off elsewhere.
