Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes praises Fred for his fighting ability
According to The Mirror, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has praised teammate Fred for his ‘fighting’ quality against Brighton and Hove Albion.
United had to dig deep to defeat the Seagulls in what was a dramatic fixture at the Amex Stadium. Fernandes was once again the hero as he stepped up to convert from the spot with the last kick of the game.
It was United’s first win of the season and gives us three points after yet another unconvincing performance.
United looked to have done enought to win 2-1 only for Brighton to equalize in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
Despair turned to ecstasy as a handball by Neal Maupay earned us a late penalty, ironically after the final whistle had gone.
A dependable penalty taker, Fernandes admits it took courage to take the high-pressure kick. Thankfully, he dispatched it with ease to convert one point into three.
While Fred was not directly involved, the Brazilian fought to keep Brighton players away from Fernandes.
“I see Fred fighting with everyone who was coming to take out my focus, taking away the players from Brighton.”
This would have helped the Portuguese star keep his focus as he sent the Brighton keeper the wrong way.

Fernandes is yet to miss a penalty for United. While some dismiss him as a penalty king, the truth remains that he is a player capable of keeping his nerve when needed.
