Speaking on the Transfer Show (h/t Express), Sky Sports’ reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that Manchester United CEO Ed Woodward is ‘quietly confident’ of signing Jadon Sancho this summer.

The Jadon Sancho to Manchester United transfer saga has been dragging on all through the summer.

The Red Devils remain intent on signing the England international but are unwilling to meet Borussia Dortmund’s transfer fee demand of £108m. (h/t Express)

However, Solhekol is of the belief that the Manchester United camp is confident about seeing the deal over the line, claiming that the transfer could go through in the final week in the transfer window. (h/t Express)

“I think Manchester United are quietly confident that they’ve got a good chance of signing Jadon Sancho.”

Solhekol further adds that an offer of around €100m (£91.5m) could be enough to convince Dortmund to part ways, in spite of their current stance. (h/t Express)

“I think Manchester United, offering them something that can be sold as a €100m deal, could get this deal done.”

This comes after reports claimed that Manchester United plan to make one final approach for Sancho with an offer of £90m. It will consist of an upfront payment worth £75m with a further £15m in add-ons.

Given the lack of a natural right-sided winger in the squad, signing Sancho is a no-brainer for Manchester United. But Dortmund continue to play hardball in negotiations. So it remains to be seen if a deal can be closed in the final week of the window.
