Manchester United enquire about Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin
According to The Sun, Manchester United have enquired about Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The 23-year-old became the youngest English striker to score a hat-trick following his treble against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
The Toffees star has enjoyed a brilliant start to the new campaign. So far he has scored four goals in the first two Premier League games as Everton start off with back to back wins.
Calvert-Lewin was signed from Sheffield United for a paltry £1.5million, just four years ago. It is fair to say that his value has only improved.
Everton have demanded £80m for his services. Given his recent upsurge in form, it will be fair to say that they can now demand a higher fee.
The youngster has thrived since Carlo Ancelotti took the reins at Goodison Park. He has scored 12 goals in the 23 games since and has led the Everton line with distinction.
Everton massive asking price have put off United, who have had a rather underwhelming transfer window so far.
The likes of Chelsea and Manchester City were also earlier linked with the player. According to the Express, Everton’s asking price would also have put them off.
Calvert-Lewin was a part of the England Under-20 side that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2017. He also went on to win the England Under-20 Player of the Year Award in 2018.
