According to MEN, Leicester City have dropped out of the race for Manchester United target David Brooks.

The Bournemouth winger was seen as an alternative to Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho. With the Foxes now out of the picture, United could have a free hand in pursuing the Welshman.

The Red Devils are keen to add around three players before the window shuts in 12 days. According to the report, they are keen to bring in a right-winger even if that player is not Sancho.

While Brooks is on United’s radar, the club is yet to make an official bid. The youngster was in action in Bournemouth’s 1-1- draw with Middlesborough.

The 23-year-old missed the majority of last season through injury. He has his best years ahead of him and is held in high esteem at United.

Club legend Ryan Giggs, who manages Brooks at the international level, concurs. He believes the winger has every chance of succeeding at Old Trafford.

While one Welshman could be on his way to United, another could be on his way out.

Speedster Daniel James has been linked with a move to Leeds United, with manager Marcelo Bielsa an admirer. Despite a strong start to life at Old Trafford, James has failed to hit the same heights.

Losing him without bringing in a replacement will leave us short of options going into what could be a long season.

A number of players have left Bournemouth after they got relegated from the Premier League last season.

Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser have joined Newcastle United. Nathan Ake and Aaron Ramsdale have also left to join Manchester City and Sheffield United respectively.

It remains to be seen if Brooks will be the next high-profile name to depart the Vitality Stadium.
