According to The Daily Mail, France’s national team manager Didier Deschamps has hailed the progress shown by Manchester United ace Anthony Martial.

Deschamps believes that the United number nine has transformed on and off the pitch and is on the right track. Martial enjoyed a fine season last time around and was the club’s top scorer with 23 goals.

“He has changed. I have noticed as well off of the pitch.”

He carried over his good form to the international stage against Croatia on Tuesday in his first start for France since 2018.

In a repeat of the 2018 World Cup Final, France once again prevailed 4-2. Martial set up Antoine Griezmann for the opener and also forced Dominik Livakovic to score an own goal.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a fine start to life at Old Trafford since he made the move in 2015. His development has since stalled and he looked to be on the verge of falling away.

Thankfully, he stepped up his performances last season and is now once again on the path to realizing his potential.

“He is capable of making a difference, very solid. He is on the right track.”

Deschamps’ comments reflect positively upon what has been a steady rejuvenation of one of our brightest talents.

More Manchester United

Alongside Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood, Martial formed a terrifying threesome that scored for fun in the second half of the season.

With his reputation now enhanced, the Frenchman should look to build upon the success last season and push on.
