Alex Telles agent flies out to England to work out Manchester United transfer

According to Portuguese publication A Bola (h/t Mirror), the agent of Alex Telles has flown to England to work out a transfer to Manchester United.

The Red Devils are keen to reinforce the full-back positions. Despite Luke Shaw‘s improved performances, he continues to be prone to injuries, while Brandon Williams still has much to learn. With Champions League football set to return, United will have to build up strength in depth.

Telles has been on United’s radar for some time now. The Red Devils have intensified their interest with a deal once again on the agenda. (h/t Mirror)

The Porto star is not the only left-back on United’s radar. Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon also features high on the club’s wanted list. (h/t Mirror)

However according to the report, a deal for Telles seems to be in the works. The player’s agent is keen to accel erate matters to ensure a deal can be agreed upon as quickly as possible.

The 27-year-old was valued at £27m by the Porto. United, however, could sign him up for a cheaper price. (h/t Mirror)

Luke Shaw

Telles is a vastly experienced player who has impressed since joining Porto from Galatasaray in 2016. He has since made 192 appearances for the club and has seen his reputation rise at the Estadio do Dragao.

Capable of playing anywhere along the left flank, Telles is a daunting force in attack. He has scored 24 goals and an impressive 55 assists, predominantly playing as a left-back.

His runs upfield will add another dimension to a prolific United frontline. It should also take the focus off Bruno Fernandes who has been at the heart of everything good we have done since January.

While Telles may not be a glamorous signing, he might turn out to be an effective one. It will also address a key concern in our squad – the lack of strength in depth.

If completed, he will become the club’s second signing of the summer after Donny van de Beek.
