Manchester United could swoop in for Raul Jimenez
According to The Express, Wolverhampton Wanderers signing Fabio Silva could hand Manchester United the chance to swoop in for Raul Jimenez.
The Molineux outfit broke their transfer record to land the highly-rated youngster. The Pack ended up paying an eye-watering £35million for the 18-year-old.
Silva is a centre-forward who can also play as the second striker. The spot at Wolves is currently occupied by Mexican ace Jimenez.
The 18-year-old arrives with a huge reputation having broken numerous records during his time at Porto. According to the report, he could be thrown in as a starter straight away.
This could give United the opportunity to finally land the 29-year-old Jimenez. The striker has been on United’s radar for some time and is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League.
Wolves are set to demand around £60m for the Mexico international. Jimenez’s impressive record has seen him net 44 goals in 99 appearances for Wolves.
United are keen to bring in one more attacker this window. While Jadon Sancho remains the club’s top target this summer, talks for him have hit a standstill.
With the transfer window set to end in a month’s time, United could now turn their attention to other targets. Given his experience in the Premier League and eye for goal, Jimenez would present himself as a readymade option.
Wolves could still yet make a move for Braga forward Paulinho. Adding the striker to their roster will only further put Jimenez’s future in doubt.

Jimenez had earlier admitted that he would like to stay in England. This can work in our favour if we decide to make a move for the player.
United have a close relationship with the player’s agent Jorge Mendes. This could make a potential switch more doable. Jimenez’s current contract at the Molineux runs until 2023. (h/t Express)
While forking out the asking fee for a 29-year-old may not be the best option, the Red Devils would at the very least be getting a dependable player who can lead the line with ease.
