Manchester United hand trial to Reda Khadra
As reported by Mail Online (h/t Mirror), former Borussia Dortmund winger Reda Khadra is on trial at Manchester United, after leaving the Bundesliga outfit this summer.
Khadra started out at the academy of Tennis Borussia Berlin, before joining the Dortmund youth setup in 2016. The 19-year-old winger did fairly well for the club’s U17s, before being pushed up to the U19s in 2018.
The wide player impressed with the U19 outfit, contributing with a goal and six assists in over 40 appearances. He also caught the eye in the UEFA Youth League with a goal and two assists in 11 appearances. (h/t Transfermarkt)
However, he never got a chance to make his senior debut for the 2019/20 Bundesliga runners-up. In fact, he made just one appearance for the club’s reserve team before becoming a free agent this summer.
And as per the report, Manchester United have handed the youngster a trial and are mulling over the prospect of integrating him into our U23 set-up for the upcoming campaign.
With Mason Greenwood joining the first-team on a permanent basis and Tahith Chong out on loan, adding another forward to Neil Wood’s squad wouldn’t be the worst idea.
And while Khadra wasn’t quite able to break into the senior team at Dortmund, there is potential in the German, which hopefully he can realise with our club.
