Manchester United will not make any more bids for Benoit Badiashile
According to the Daily Star, Manchester United will not make a second bid for Benoit Badiashile.
The Red Devils made a £22million bid for the young defender which was promptly rejected. Monaco boss Nico Kovac is keen to keep the 19-year-old at the Stade Louis II.
United were in the driving seat for the player, ahead of arch-rivals Chelsea. However, following the rejection, they have decided not to pursue the signing anymore.
We have been long term admirers of the player. In fact, United have been keeping tabs on Badiashile since the days of Jose Mourinho. (h/t Mirror)
Highly rated in France, Badiashile has been dubbed the new Raphael Varane. His performances have also garnered the attention of Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen.
Badiashile is quick on his feet, with his pace making him a dangerous opponent. A 6ft 4in giant, the Frenchman is also a force to be reckoned with aerially.
A left-footed defender, the 19-year-old also has the experience of playing at the highest level. He made two appearances in Monaco’s 2018-19 Champions League campaign.
Badiashile made his debut for the Monaco senior side last season. He has amassed 46 appearances.
Although United have improved defensively this season, we are far from the finished article. Signing Badiashile would be a move in the right direction.
The youngster has the potential to grow into an excellent defender. United will do well to take a chance on the young French youth international. If he turns anywhere as good as Varane, we will have a real player on our hands.

With the 2020/21 campaign fast approaching, United are yet to make a signing for the first-team. The fact that we are also walking away from Badiashile at the first rejection shows a lack of ambition.
If anything, walking away is a mockery of our pulling power. It is time United made a stand and got their transfer targets than just walk away to no one’s benefit.
