Marcus Rashford to get in touch with vulnerable families in the Manchester area

According to MEN, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has asked for the vulnerable families in the Greater Manchester area to get in touch with him.

The striker is keen to understand the lives of the vulnerable folk residing in the area.

According to a tweet made by the player, he revealed that spending time with families on his free meals voucher campaign gave him an idea of the bigger picture.

Although the United star does not pretend to know the solution to everything, he is ready to listen to the grievances of those affected.

Rashford also urged people to come forward and share their stories with him. He has promised to keep the names of those involved anonymous.

The 22-year-old has been involved in social activities over the past few months. Rashford was awarded an honorary degree from the University of Manchester in recognition of his campaign to extend free school meal vouchers during the summer holidays.

He is the youngest recipient of the honor, the highest that the University can bestow. Other United heroes to receive the accolade are Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Rashford teamed up with food waste charity, FareShare, and helped raise £20million during the lockdown. This helped pay for more than four million meals for families in need.

The 22-year-old initially set a goal of raising £100,000 and feeding 400,000 children after partnering with the charity back in April. They have since vastly surpassed that target. (h/t Standard)
