Man United identify La Liga sensation as possible Jadon Sancho alternative

Manchester United earmark Vinicius Junior as Jadon Sancho alternative

According to Defensa Central (h/t Mirror), Manchester United have enquired about Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Junior.

The Red Devils see the Brazilian as an alternative to Jadon Sancho. Although the club hasn’t given up on the Borussia Dortmund star, his £100million+ valuation has proved to be a bridge too far.

With the club now pursuing a plan-B, Vinicius has emerged as a target. The 20-year-old has notched up an impressive 69 appearances for the Spanish giants. He has scored 8 goals and 16 assists during that time.

Primarily a left-winger, he is equally capable of playing on the other wing. According to the report, Vinicius was not happy at being left on the bench for Los Blancos’ Champions League defeat to Manchester City last week.

United will however face competition for the Samba star. The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain are all keen on the player.

Vinicius has made 38 appearances this season, most of them as a substitute. He is however optimistic of getting more opportunities next season

The 20-year-old is contracted to Madrid until 2025. His mammoth £630m release clause could prove to be a hindrance. A club can, however, sign him for cheap if they reach an agreement with Real.

Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane is a fan of the player and expects him to thrive at the club in the years to come.

Possessing pace, control, dribbling skills, and acceleration, Vinicius is an excellent prospect who can turn into someone special. Madrid signed Vinicius from the Brazilian side Flamengo for £39.6million in 2018.

Vinicius has shown off his dynamic side at times. The Brazilian is a talented player who can be moulded into a match-winner.

Although Sancho is at this point in time a superior prospect, missing out on him should not be a cause for concern at United. Bringing in a capable plan B could turn out to be one of the most significant moves we make this summer.
