Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives a key insight into Manchester United summer recruitment
According to the Daily Star, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shed light on the club’s transfer strategy for the upcoming window.
United have shown plenty of promise this season. Key additions have strengthened core areas in what looks to be a season to build upon.
However, the loss to Chelsea at the weekend highlighted that the club is still some way away from competing with the top sides.
The summer transfer window opens on Monday. Solskjaer is keen to axe a number of first-team stars in order to bring in new players this summer.
The likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Jesse Lingard, and Alexis Sanchez are all on the list of players who will make way for new signings.
Apart from signings, Solskjaer is also keen to make use of his academy talents. He is keen to ensure the next generation of graduates make a name for themselves in the famous red shirt.
“As a club, we’re always looking at promoting kids and adding players that are better than our squad anyway.”
The club could elevate themselves as a key destination if they qualify for next season’s Champions League.
