Inter Milan keen on Manchester United star Anthony Martial

According to Calciomercatio via Sport Witness (h/t Daily Star), Inter Milan are keeping tabs on Manchester United star Anthony Martial.

The Frenchman has hit the ground running since the restart. He has broken the 20-goal barrier for the first time, forming an impressive triumvirate alongside Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

Currently backed by Chinese investment, the Nerazzurri have invested heavily to bring in the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen, and recently Achraf Hakimi.

According to the report, Inter’s chances of landing the Frenchman is close to nothing. More so considering the key role Martial has been given in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

The Red Devils value the 24-year-old at £63.5m. A price that can be brought down given their interest in including Milan Skriniar in the deal.

The defender had earlier been linked to United as a potential partner for Harry Maguire. It is to be noted, however, that he has struggled this season under Antonio Conte.

The article goes on to mention that United could part with one of their front three provided they can land Jadon Sancho.

We don’t see what Martial can achieve at Inter that he cannot at United. Despite the investment, the Italian giants are miles behind Juventus and their European prospects aren’t great either.

Martial can be a part of a special attack at United. Rather than replace him, we must look to add to him instead. The Red Devils showed enough faith to pay a then world-record fee for a teenager and bring the Frenchman to Old Trafford.

It makes no sense to sell him just when it appears that he has rediscovered his mojo.

The San Siro has turned into a favourite destination for United stars. Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez moved to the San Siro last season with Ashley Young following them this January.

Anthony Martial is one name that must not be added to that list.
