Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the club is a destination for ambitious players
According to the Express, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Manchester United is a destination for ambitious young players.
The club is now in a strong position. With Champions League qualification looking more probable by the day, the club is closing on a seat at Europe’s top table.
United was the subject of rejection by two of Europe’s highly talented teenagers. Erling Haaland rejected us in the summer while Jude Bellingham also looks set to do the same.
“I think Man United is attractive for any young player out there with ambition.”
The United boss believes the winds of change are blowing. The club has always had young players coming through the ranks. Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams have enjoyed breakout seasons. A number of other youngsters have also made the step up to the first-team.
Mentality matters
Apart from the quality that players bring to the table, Solskjaer is also keen to ensure they have the right mentality. He expects them to give their all for their teammates and the manager.
“I wouldn’t be able to look at myself if I didn’t know I’d given everything for my team-mates and my manager.”
The Norwegian is preaching what he practised and has enjoyed an excellent career in Red. He clearly knows what he is talking about the young players at the club will do well to pay heed his advice.
Haven given it his all, it is to be expected that Solskjaer will not entertain ‘rotten apples’. The players with the right mentality thrive while the rest are more troublesome than they are worth.
“You have to have a good personality and that you are professional because one rotten apple in the basket will make the others rotten.”
Solskjaer is keen to build a team in his image. He has, however, not lost sight of the ultimate goal and that is to win.
“We are in the business to win.”
