Manchester United interested in Alexander Sorloth
According to Turkish site Fanatik (h/t Birmingham Mail), Manchester United are interested in Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sorloth.
The Norwegian, who signed for the club in 2018 endured a miserable spell, scoring just one goal in 20 outings. He was subsequently loaned out to Gent and he is now at Trabzonspor.
The 24-year-old has thrived in Turkey and has notched up an impressive 29 goals and 10 assists in 45 outings so far. His goals have propelled the Turks to within four points of Super Lig leaders Istanbul Besaksehir.
His performances have garnered interest from a number of clubs in the Premier League. Apart from us, the likes of Chelsea and Aston Villa are also interested.
His agent had earlier confirmed that Trabzonspor do have an option to sign the player. He went on to add that his client is very happy at a big club and is keen to show his abilities.
It augurs well considering United are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Clearly, no other institution comes close to us in England.
The report goes on to add that European giants in the ilk of Real Madrid, Juventus and Napoli. The Italians have also been touted to be ready with a £26.5m offer. It has been suggested they could activate a lower release clause as a part of that deal before selling for a profit.
Although United’s front three have been electric, we lack cover. Bringing in Sorloth would not be the worst idea after all. He might be ready to prove a point that he can cut it in the best league in the world.

United’s interest in Ighalo was seen as a sign of ineptitude by the club’s detractors. The Nigerian has proven doubters wrong on his way to earning a well-deserved loan extension.
The fact that Sorloth failed at Palace should not be held against him. Sometimes, a second chance can do wonders – one can ask Kevin de Bruyne and Mohamed Salah that.
