According to Kicker (h/t Independent), Borussia Dortmund are preparing for life without Jadon Sancho amidst Manchester United interest.

The English wonderkid has been in excellent form for the Bundesliga giants. He scored an incredible 20 goals and 20 assists across all competitions this season.

Consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford, he would be a gamechanger in our efforts to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

Our efforts to land him have grown following sporting director Michael Zorc’s admission. He admitted that the club is on the lookout for a replacement. (h/t Independent)

“Should Jadon leave, we’ll make additions in our attacking department.”

Sancho has two years remaining on his contract. Dortmund is set for a windfall after paying Manchester City just £7m for the player back in 2017.

Another advantage United have in their pursuit is Dortmund’s need to balance their books. The Germans anticipate a loss of about €45m for the current campaign. Selling Sancho will certainly help offset that.

It does however come at the cost of losing a massive attacking threat on the field. Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke is aware that bringing in a replacement will cost more given the amount Dortmund will receive for Sancho. (h/t Independent)

He has also refused to rule out that the player will indeed leave the club. (h/t Independent)

“If he stays with us, then he stays.”
