European giants consider signing on-loan Man United star in £18m permanent deal

Alexis Sanchez scores for Manchester United

Inter Milan want to sign Alexis Sanchez permanently for £18m

According to a report from Goal (h/t Mirror), Serie A giants Inter Milan are considering making the signing of on-loan Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez permanent this summer.

Sanchez joined the Nerazzurri last summer, having failed to live up to the expectations at Manchester United. However, he has endured another frustrating campaign in Italy, with injuries and poor form hampering him.

However, he has shown signs of growing in confidence since the resumption of the campaign. In the game against Brescia earlier this month, the Chilean scored once and set up two more goals, reminding everyone of his quality.

In 20 appearances across all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far, the 31-year-old has bagged two goals and set up six more.

Sanchez’s loan deal was supposed to expire at the end of last month. However, United have allowed him to stay till the end of the Serie A season on August 2.

The report claims that the Red Devils are unwilling to let the Chilean continue beyond that, casting doubts over his involvement in the Europa League for the Nerazzurri.

As a result, Inter are considering convert his loan signing into a permanent transfer. And the Serie A heavyweights are willing to offer as much as £18m to secure his services permanently.

Given the club’s current attacking contingent, there doesn’t seem to be much space for Alexis Sanchez to come back and become a regular at Old Trafford.

Furthermore, the club is eyeing more additions in the summer. So, it seems that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided what he wants to do with the Chilean. It now remains to be seen if the club accepts the offer from Inter Milan.
