According to the MEN, former Manchester United starlet Largie Ramazani will join Spanish side UD Almeria.

The 19-year-old earlier rejected a contract offered by United in search of opportunities elsewhere.

Having arrived from Charlton Athletic in 2017, the youngster showed a lot of promise in our youth ranks. A winger who can play on either flank, he went on to score 15 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances across various age groups. (h/t Transfermarkt)

He made his senior bow during our shock defeat to Astana last November. Although the cameo lasted just six minutes, it showed that the player’s abilities were known to the United hierarchy.

According to the report, Ed Woodward offered Ramazani a new contract. The club were not prepared to meet his wage demands though, which they believed to be excessive.

Ramazani believed he could not make the cut and left the club when his contract expired on Tuesday.

It is unfortunate that another youngster has exited the club despite being offered a contract. It can be considered a blessing that a player who felt he could never make it at the club has chosen to leave.

The attitude in a way indicates a lack of ambition or confidence. If Ramazani thought he could never make it, then it is very likely that he would not have made it.

It is important that we not only have talented players but also those that are mentally strong and ambitious. Perseverance does have a way of transcending into skill – just ask Paul Scholes.

We wish Ramazani all the best on his new journey. He may not have made it at United, but he will hopefully do well elsewhere.
